Our Evening at the Colorful Night of Digitization
At the Colorful Night of Digitization, the city of Karlsruhe shows every two years which projects and companies are driving the city's digitalization forward – and we at Semanux were there too.
This year's Colorful Night of Digitization was opened at the TRIANGEL with a welcoming address by Ronja Kemmer, Ministerial Director and Chief Digital Officer of the Baden-Württemberg state government. That was also where this year's focus of the event was set: digital sovereignty and competence in Europe.
From 3 p.m. onwards, things continued in a decentralized fashion – with more than 200 program items, over 50 partners, and across 18 locations spread throughout the city. We presented ourselves alongside alfaview, alfatraining, and EML Speech Technology. At our booth, guests of all ages could try out how AI-supported tools can help people with disabilities in everyday life. Of course, the fun was not neglected either: in a game developed with AI based on our recently presented new Semanux SDK, children could go on a point-scoring hunt and pop as many balloons as possible through head movements in a short amount of time. For us, it was impressive to see with how much curiosity and how few reservations people approached our technology.

And for anyone who wanted even more, the alfaview booths offered the chance to prove themselves with their own app and game development. The new App Factory is an AI-supported development framework that turns the user's ideas into finished, playable programs within a few minutes. The highlight of the evening came from EML Speech Technology: in a live demo featuring a real drone flight on an outdoor site, they showed how an air traffic controller's instructions were transcribed directly and processed in an analyzable form – including all the technical terms, flight codes, and abbreviations.

We wrapped up the evening together with our team and many other partners at the FLUX on the Alter Schlachthof. For us as a young company, the Colorful Night of Digitization was a fantastic opportunity to show our face and make new contacts. A big thank you to karlsruhe.digital for organizing it – and to everyone who stopped by!
