On Wednesday morning, we first went to the headquarters of the South Korean technology giant SK Telecom. There the group was shown the history of the company in the T.UM technology showroom as well as its vision of the future: Highland, a hyper-connected megacity with settlements on land, under water and in space. This will be made possible by the various technologies that SK Telecom is working on: a hyperloop for passenger transportation, autonomous intelligent drones that rescue people and animals from dangerous situations and adaptive resource management to respond to environmental challenges such as storms, floods and forest fires.

In the evening, we went to the Local Stitch Sogong (로컬스티치 소공) to meet the Korean and international audience from the start-up scene, government authorities, venture capital funds and NGOs** together with 10 other German start-ups. The German Ambassador to South Korea, Georg Wilfried Schmidt and the Vice Chairman of the German-Korean Chamber of Foreign Trade, Felix Kalkowsky gave short introductory speeches about the economic activities of German companies in Korea and how they benefit from the "Black-Red-Gold" image abroad.
