Review: Summer Camp '24 of the Handelsblatt
Florian took part in the Handelsblatt Media Group's two-day Summer Camp '24 conference on August 28 and 29 at the Munich Urban Colab.
Summer Camp '24 was not only an opportunity to make valuable contacts, but also to learn and be inspired by the latest trends and innovations in various industries. Thanks to the third prize at the Health-i-Award, we are now happy to be part of the exclusive events and networks made accessible to us through this award.
The first day of the conference began with a highlight - a live podcast recording of "Handelsblatt Disrupt", where we were able to experience the visions of Daniel Metzler, CEO of Isar Aerospace, up close and personal. It was fascinating to hear about the future of space travel and the profound technological innovations that Isar Aerospace is striving for. These insights showed us once again how important it is to think visionary and push boundaries.
Another inspiring event of the day was the “Inspiration Panel”, which focused on sustainable business and the role of innovative technologies in the future. Dr. Francesco Sciortino from Proxima Fusion shared his visions for a sustainable energy supply and showed how technological progress and environmental protection can go hand in hand.
In the masterclass "Inside Audio", Matthias Rutkowski gave an introduction to the world of corporate podcasts. This interactive seminar helped us to understand how to effectively develop new audio strategies for branding.
The transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing was the central topic of the “Deep Dive: AI in Marketing”. Sebastian Scheibe from Vision11 and other experts opened up exciting perspectives on how AI will - and already has - changed the marketing landscape.
The last session of the day focused on the role of AI in retail. Anika Vooes from REWE Digital GmbH and other speakers offered fascinating insights into the use of AI for a cashierless supermarket and thereby creating personalized shopping experiences. These discussions showed once again how AI can enrich our lives in many ways.
The first day ended with a relaxed sundowner and a get-together. This provided an ideal opportunity to network with other participants and discuss the insights gained in an informal setting.
The second day began with an inspiring talk by Sandro Wagner, co-coach of the DFB national team. Wagner shared his experiences from the world of sport and emphasized the importance of teamwork and leadership - valuable insights that are also relevant for corporate management.
Another highlight was the panel on the importance of interdisciplinary ecosystems for innovation. Moritz Gräter from IPAI (Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence) reported on the university campus in Heilbronn and how it has benefited from cooperation with partners from industry, research and civil society organizations.
An exclusive event of the conference was the Member Meet-up of the Health-i Board. This Lunch & Talk format offered a great platform to exchange ideas with other members of the Health-i Board such as Andreas von Münchow and to discuss current topics in the healthcare industry.
Laura Heidrich from Google Cloud gave a fascinating presentation on the role of AI in medicine. She highlighted the possibilities and investment opportunities that AI offers in the healthcare sector and how AI is already saving lives today. This session was particularly relevant to us at Semanux as we are always looking to improve people's lives through technology.
The discussion on leadership in a world characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) provided in-depth insights into how managers can successfully navigate their teams in uncertain times. Christopher Schorling from freiheit.com technologies GmbH and other experts emphasized the importance of resilience and adaptability.
At the end of the conference, the challenges and opportunities of leadership in multigenerational teams were discussed. Isabel Hartung and other experts gave valuable tips on how different generations can be reconciled to create synergies and promote a productive working environment.
Die zweitägige Konferenz endete mit einem Wrap-up und einem Get-together. Es war eine ideale Gelegenheit, die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse zusammenzufassen und sich auf die Zeit nach der Sommerpause einzustimmen.
Attending Summer Camp '24 was a great opportunity for us at Semanux to expand our network, learn from industry leaders and gain new inspiration for our future projects. The Health-i Member Meet-up in particular provided us with valuable insights and opportunities for collaboration. We are excited to see how these gathered ideas and partnerships will enrich our future innovations and look forward to attending the next conference.
