Trace
You can define and configure the behavior and appearance of the trace in Semanux Access.
You can find the trace settings under Type of Settings: All > Appearance > Trace.
The trace is probably the most important control element in Semanux Access as it acts as a replacement for your mouse pointer. The trace shows you the active spot on your screen.
You can configure the trace separately for both Express Mode and Precision Mode. The head control of Semanux Access also works if you hide the trace. However, this usually makes operation more difficult, so we recommend activating the trace. To do this, check Activate trace in Express Mode under Trace in Express Mode. It works similarly for configuring the trace in Precision Mode: check Activate trace in Precision Mode under Trace in Precision Mode.
You can determine the appearance of the trace in terms of shape, color, size, and opacity. By default, the Shape "Disk" is selected for Express Mode. Other available shapes are: circle, cross, and crosshair. The Color of the trace is set to the accent color by default; you also have several other colors available. Choose a color that provides good contrast and is easy to distinguish from the background. The Size of the trace is specified in pixels and is set to 48 pixels by default. If you have a very large screen, it may be helpful to set the trace size larger; similarly, on small screens, it makes sense to set the trace size smaller. The Opacity of the trace is determined in percentage and indicates the transparency of the trace over the background. Lower values make the trace appear more transparent, while values close to 100% strongly obscure the background. The default value is set to 75 %. If you check Show trace border in Express Mode or Show trace border in Precision Mode, the trace will be outlined with a thin line in the contrast color. Additionally, you can display a slight shadow in the contrast color behind the trace by checking Activate trace shadow in Express Mode or Activate trace shadow in Precision Mode. Both options make it easier to recognize the trace and distinguish it from the background.
A glow at the screen edge can indicate that the trace is near the outside of the screen. Select Activate trace glow at the edge of the screen when the trace is outside the screen for this.
The compass also gives you an indication of the trace's position when it is far from your screen. Select Activate compass when the trace is outside the screen for this.
