Semanux

Direct Actions & Action Menu

In addition to executing actions via the panel, you can also execute certain actions directly, depending on your presets. This is simpler and faster in the long run!

Info:

If you use the Preset: Only Head Movement or the Preset: Only Eye Movement, direct actions are not possible. You can skip this section.

So far, we have always activated the corresponding click action in the panel before moving the trace to the point where the click should be executed. With direct actions, you can move the trace directly to where you want to click:

  1. Move the trace to the spot where you want to click:

The trace before a direct action is started.

  2. How you execute a direct action now depends on your presets:

    • Preset: Only Head Movement + Mimic:

Open your mouth until the trace changes as described in the next step. Then close it again.

    • Preset: Only Head Movement + Switch:

Press your switch once. The trace should change as described in the next step. Then press your switch again.

    • Presets with Controller:

Press and hold the A button on your controller. The trace should change as described in the next step. Then release the A button.

  3. The trace will initially change its appearance:

The trace when it is ready to start a direct action.

  4. Then a Left click-action will be executed:

The visualization of a clicked action.
Info:

You can also set other actions as direct actions instead of Left click. Depending on your input options, you may even be able to use multiple direct actions (see Settings: Mouse Click).

Info:

Are you wondering why the trace looks different in between? This allows you to move the trace more precisely. How this works is explained in the next section Express Mode & Precision Mode.

Hint:

With direct actions, you can not only select controls in other programs but also those of Semanux Access. For example, you can also activate buttons in the panel, letters on the virtual keyboard, or the Pause Button with a direct action. This is generally faster than using Dwell Time.

The visualization of a clicked action.

With the Action Menu, similar to direct actions, you can trigger an action at the current trace position. However, you are no longer limited to just one action (such as Left click); you can always choose what should happen.

Info:

The action menu is only used in controller-based presets. If you use a different preset, you can skip this section. Depending on your input options, you can still activate the action menu if you want (see Settings: Action Menu).

  1. Move the trace to the spot where you want to call up the action menu:

The trace before the action menu is called up.

  2. Press the B button on your controller, or the input you have set for the action menu. The action menu appears:

    The action menu.

  3. Now use the trace to activate one of the actions Left click, Double click, Right click, or Drag and drop to perform one of the already known mouse actions.

With Scroll up or Scroll down, you can scroll up or down one step, as if you were turning the mouse wheel forward or backward.

With Type, you can open the virtual keyboard.

And with Close, you can close the action menu without executing an action.
